BCBA Supervision Costs: Compare Packages and Included Hours (2026)

BCBAbby and North Star quote similar monthly fees for different amounts of supervisor contact. Some providers also supply a client. A client-providing placement and a contact-time quote need different budget questions, especially when a higher monthly invoice can shorten the number of bills.

Key takeaways

  • Their listed bundle quotients span $38.46–$150 per included contact hour. Source
  • At a steady 60-hour standard pace, Applied's $450 example totals $15,300 over 34 billed months. Source
  • Its $700, 100-hour example totals $14,000 over 20 months under the same billing assumptions. Source
  • The BASN's $249 package combines 40 OBM fieldwork hours with two included contact hours. Source
  • Sidekick's $30 monthly curriculum licence is outside the supervisor-contact comparison. Source

What do the eleven package prices cover?

BCBAbby lists $315 for eight included contact hours in its 2027 standard plan, while North Star's Navigator starts at $325 for four. The contact time differs twofold. Format, supported fieldwork and client arrangements still belong beside those quantities when you compare the actual proposals. BCBAbby. North Star.

The quotient is arithmetic. A subscription fee divided by included contact hours describes the bundle, not an hourly service you can necessarily purchase separately. It also leaves group allocation, client access, observation and document support outside the number.

The BASN broadens the comparison. It supplies organizational clients for OBM work, whereas Applied describes a caregiver-client arrangement. Those are different placements. A trainee interested in workplace performance may want one. a trainee preparing for caregiver-focused work may need the other. The BASN. Applied.

Check your training plan first. The BCBA certification pathway helps identify the relevant experience question. The credential comparison explains why paid technician work and analyst fieldwork need separate arrangements even when the same employer provides both.

How much of the package is contact time?

The BASN supplies exactly 40 fieldwork hours. Two are supervision: one individual hour and one mandatory group hour. Applied's starting standard example has three contact hours within 60 monthly fieldwork hours. The larger total includes the work a trainee performs outside contact with the supervisor. The BASN. Applied.

Applied Behavior Analysts: 100-hour standard example$700/month. 5 supervision hoursSource
The BASN group allocation1 individual hour + 1 group hour per 40 fieldwork hoursSource

Keep both quantities visible. Buying meetings does not create a placement, a client relationship or enough eligible work to fill the rest of the month. If you already have an appropriate placement, supervision-only support may address your need. If you lack client access, compare the arrangement that supplies it.

Group allocation also affects fit. Ask what happens if you miss a scheduled group, whether an individual replacement costs extra and which observations sit inside the quoted contact total. A low quotient can lose its appeal if the format repeatedly clashes with the hours you can attend.

Applied says optional completed group hours receive a separate discount. The package table uses the listed individual starting examples and does not subtract a discount for group sessions we did not book. BCBAbby also mentions time-limited checkout discounts. Those checkout totals were not tested. Applied terms. BCBAbby terms.

Map the work against the career-role guide. If an employer supplies the placement, record protected time and supervision terms in the offer worksheet. An advertisement promising supervision support may still leave its monthly capacity or program admission unresolved.

How does monthly pace change the calendar?

At 100 eligible hours monthly, the arithmetic gives 20 standard months or 15 concentrated months. At 60 hours, those figures become 34 and 25. These are constant-pace scenarios with no prior hours and a rounded-up final month, not observed completion times.

The application regime matters. Under the 2027 rules, a full 100-hour month needs five standard or 7.5 concentrated contact hours. Before 2027, concentrated supervision uses 10%. At the total-hour minimums, contact arithmetic is 100 standard, 112.5 concentrated under 2027, or 150 concentrated under current percentages. Each month must qualify independently. BACB Handbook.

Calendar pace can fail before price becomes the main problem. A month without enough eligible work, suitable observation or complete records can change the plan, and a package's advertised capacity does not guarantee that a trainee reaches it.

The calculator flags a subscription with too few included contact hours at your chosen pace. It also flags a projected schedule beyond the five-year completion window. For a before-2027 application, the numerical comparison still needs a feasible timetable before the cutoff. Source.

Check technician credential requirements separately if you are entering through a job. The training-benefit guide helps distinguish what an employer funds. Initial training, ongoing technician supervision and analyst fieldwork are different commitments.

Can a higher monthly fee produce a lower total?

Applied's two standard examples show how this can happen. With no prior hours, 60 hours monthly at $450 produces 34 bills totaling $15,300. At 100 hours monthly and $700, 20 bills total $14,000. The latter monthly invoice is larger, but its constant-pace completion budget is $1,300 lower.

Applied standard 100-hour completion-cost scenario$14,000 across 20 billed monthsSource
Applied standard pacing-budget difference$1,300Source
The BASN one-package standard completion scenario$12,450 across 50 monthsSource

These budgets have assumptions. Every month qualifies, the listed fee stays unchanged and the final partial month receives a full subscription bill. Extra contact, tax and other charges are excluded. A provider could bill the last period differently, so request that term before relying on the total.

One BASN package gives a different illustration: exactly 40 eligible hours at $249 for 50 months totals $12,450. It is standard-track OBM experience. The price does not make that placement a substitute for the specific clinical preparation another trainee wants. The BASN pricing.

The BASN also allows several separately assigned packages within the total monthly cap. We model one throughout rather than multiplying a single supervisor's advertised capacity. More packages mean additional clients, supervisors and documentation arrangements, which need their own plan. Source.

Budget the working week too. The salary comparison guide explains how paid hours affect employment income. If a job funds supervision, ask whether protected work time, minimum accrual or repayment conditions accompany the benefit. A waived invoice can still come with a commitment you need to price into the decision.

Ask about slow months. Will unused contact roll forward? Can a subscription pause when a placement ends? Those terms can change the total even when two providers publish the same monthly price.

Which prices need another question before they enter a budget?

BehaviorPrep publishes two different monthly price pairs. Its supervision page lists $450 and $250, while its products page lists $400 and $200. We retain the disagreement and exclude those plans from the normalized chart. A written quote needs to resolve the price and services together.

MetricValueSource
BehaviorPrep: Full time$450/month. 6 supervision hoursSource
BehaviorPrep: Part time$250/month. 3 supervision hoursSource
BehaviorPrep public price conflict$450/$250 on supervision page. $400/$200 on products pageSource
Sidekick curriculum licence price$30/monthSource
Emerging Behaviors fee disclosureHourly rate agreed in consultation. numeric price not publishedSource

A curriculum subscription creates a different risk. Sidekick's Lite curriculum is $30 monthly, but that is an educational licence. Its remote-supervision service is on another page without a numeric fee. The $30 amount cannot be divided into assumed BCBA contact hours. Sidekick curriculum.

Emerging Behaviors describes contact hours but leaves its hourly price for a consultation. Several other offers were inaccessible or unclear. A missing amount stays missing, so it cannot enter the range at zero or become an estimated bargain. Emerging Behaviors fees.

Prepare the discussion with practical supervision questions. Ask who provides the client, which activities are expected, how observations work and what records the fee covers. If your placement changes, confirm whether the provider can continue supervising the new work and what the change costs.

Keep the quote. A source page checked in October cannot settle a new invoice months later, especially when the provider names a cutoff, revised application rules or a different package for a higher accrual pace.

Calculate a supervision budget

Enter your quoted price and expected eligible monthly hours. The calculation checks contact percentages and billing assumptions. Your supervisor still needs to confirm the complete fieldwork arrangement.

Default standard example: 20 billed months. subscription $5,000. hourly minimum $7,500.

Sources and budget assumptions

Provider-controlled pages were checked October 9, 2026. Eleven packages have usable listed-price and included-contact-hour pairs. Four provider brands appear, with Applied Behavior Analysts and The BASN identifying a sister-company relationship. Two conflicting BehaviorPrep plans remain in the downloadable observations but outside the normalized price chart.

We record the monthly fee, included contact, supported fieldwork, application regime and conditions. Quotients use listed amounts before untested checkout discounts or optional group credits. Client access, format, tax and quality are not normalized. Curriculum licences are classified separately.

Completion budgets assume no previous hours, constant eligible accrual, unchanged fees and full final-month billing. Rounding can add a bill. Actual work, observation and records must satisfy every applicable requirement. The BACB's June 2026 handbook and linked 2027 requirements govern the numerical rules used here.

This comparison does not estimate a national average, verify licence eligibility or measure trainee outcomes. We did not book services or inspect signed agreements. Some pages have no publication date. Recheck terms before buying, and preserve the package name, check date and inclusions when sharing a figure.

Questions candidates ask

What is the average supervision price?

These eleven packages do not establish an average for the country. Listed monthly fees divided by included supervisor-contact hours range from $38.46 to $150 in this selected set. Formats, tracks and client arrangements differ. Four provider brands appear, with Applied Behavior Analysts and The BASN identifying themselves as sister companies. Compare the services behind the amounts. Source

What does the price per included hour mean?

BCBAbby lists $250 for 6.5 included supervision hours in its pre-2027 standard option, a quotient of $38.46. That describes the subscription bundle. It is not an hourly purchase price. The option also has an application-year condition and enrollment cutoff, so confirm the current offer and your eligibility before using it in a budget. Source

Why can a dearer monthly plan have a lower completion budget?

Applied Behavior Analysts' listed standard examples produce $15,300 at 60 monthly fieldwork hours and $14,000 at 100 hours under our constant-pace assumptions. The faster pace shortens the number of subscription bills. Both scenarios assume no prior hours, eligible experience, unchanged fees and a full final-month bill. Your contract and actual accrual can change the result. Source

What does the BASN package include?

The BASN lists $249 per calendar month for exactly 40 unrestricted OBM fieldwork hours. That total includes one individual supervision hour and one mandatory group hour. Organizational clients are provided. It is a 2027 standard-track package. Ask whether workplace-performance projects fit the experience you want before comparing it with a caregiver-focused program. Source

Why are BehaviorPrep packages outside the price chart?

The supervision page lists $450 and $250 for full-time and part-time packages, while the products page lists $400 and $200. We show the disagreement and leave those rows out of normalized comparisons. Ask the provider for a current written quote that covers the price, included contact time, optional charges and application regime. Source

Does a $30 curriculum subscription include a supervisor?

Sidekick's $30 monthly Lite curriculum is an educational licence. Its listed resources help with supervision and study, but that price is not a quote for a BCBA's contact hours. The remote-supervision page is separate and does not publish a numeric fee. Confirm which product you are buying before treating a curriculum price as supervision cost. Source

How many months does fieldwork take at 100 hours monthly?

The arithmetic gives 20 months for 2,000 standard hours and 15 months for 1,500 concentrated hours. Those totals assume every month qualifies and the same pace continues. Under 2027 percentages, a full 100-hour month needs five standard or 7.5 concentrated supervision hours. Work availability and documentation can extend the calendar. Source

Can the budget calculator confirm that my fieldwork qualifies?

It checks quantities and pricing assumptions only. For example, North Star's Navigator starts at four contact hours supporting up to 80 monthly fieldwork hours. The activities, client relationship, supervisor and records still need to meet the relevant requirements. Use a numerical result to plan questions for the supervisor, then confirm the complete arrangement in writing. Source
