How to interpret the observations
We count active published ABA openings using the same expiry and duplicate rules as public job search. For identical titles at the same employer and location, only the newest row counts. The download also counts distinct source posting IDs within each employer, role and state group. A posting covering multiple states can appear in multiple groups; do not sum those counts into a national requisition count.
A structured pay amount means the posting has a numeric minimum or maximum in our database. It can describe salary, hourly pay or total compensation, including bonuses. It is not a verified base-pay disclosure or an employee wage. We do not pool amounts across units, estimate salaries, or classify pay conflicts from these fields.
Work terms count only when an employer quotation has been extracted. A missing quotation means we have not recorded that term; it does not establish that the employer lacks the benefit. Paid training does not establish entry-level eligibility. Fieldwork supervision is distinct from routine RBT supervision.
The opening-weighted share divides each observation by all openings. The equal-employer result first calculates that share within each employer, then averages those shares with one vote per employer. Neither is representative of the industry: source access, employer coverage, geography and repeated descriptions affect the sample. This is a current snapshot, not a historical trend.
Cite the downloaded observation timestamp and sample limits together. Employer names, role groups, states, observation counts and latest source-check timestamps are included.
