ABA Job Ad Pay Transparency: A 20-Listing Snapshot (2026)

Eighteen of the 20 ads list pay. Some quote salary, others combine it with bonuses or ownership, and three BCBA pages disagree with themselves about the amount. Thirteen pages state wage or salary terms.

Key takeaways

  • 18/20 ads contain a compensation number. Source
  • 13/20 state wage or salary terms. total compensation is a separate category. Source
  • 11/20 have numeric base-pay terms without a detected pay conflict. Source
  • 3/20 contain conflicting pay figures within the same page. Source
  • 2/10 technician ads give numeric protected paid-hours floors. Source
  • 1/10 BCBA-credentialed ads explicitly states a weekly billable-hours target. Source

What changed when the sample doubled?

The audit now has 20 ads. Ten employers contribute one technician and one BCBA-credentialed role each. That keeps a large provider's repeated location pages from dominating the counts, while still leaving the sample too small and selective to estimate industry-wide disclosure rates.

Five additional employers are Mosaic, Bloomwell, Apex, Above and Beyond, and Nurture & Nature. We chose them from public career sources already configured for the board, then opened their role pages and coded the visible terms. Several Circle Care links failed, so that employer was excluded from the expansion.

Two ads lack a numeric amount: Mosaic's selected Midlothian technician page and Kind's selected Greensboro BCBA page. Other pages contain a number with qualifications that matter to a comparison, including education bands, profit sharing and different pay formats for full- and part-time work. Mosaic. Kind.

The numbers describe selected pages. Geographic coverage is uneven, and Nurture & Nature's BCBA entry has clinical-supervisor duties. Those differences prevent a pooled salary estimate even when a pay field appears complete.

Check the duties behind ABA job titles before comparing rows. Use the credential comparison when deciding which role group fits your qualifications. The audit follows credentialed role groups, while the actual requirements stay attached to every source record.

When is a pay number usable, and when does it conflict?

BehaviorCare separates salary from part-time hourly pay. Its full-time range is $85,000–$110,000, while the part-time amount is $85–$110 an hour. ABC, Hopebridge, Mosaic and Bloomwell instead combine compensation components in their selected BCBA amounts, leaving applicants to ask how much is guaranteed cash. BehaviorCare.

Three BCBA pages disagree with themselves. Bloomwell's body starts total compensation at $93,500, while its footer starts at $90,000. Apex's body says salary starts at $90,000, but its footer gives $80,000–$90,000. Above and Beyond names a salary as high as $95,000 in its body, with a $90,000–$110,000 footer range. Each page needs clarification.

Both figures stay visible. Choosing a footer automatically would hide the disagreement, while choosing the larger number would make an offer look stronger without resolving what it pays. We count a numeric disclosure in those cases and measure consistency separately. The conflicting ranges are excluded from wage-width calculations.

The distinction is useful during negotiation. Request the salary that will appear in the offer, the bonus formula and any ownership valuation. Our pay-format guide keeps those components separate. The offer worksheet gives you somewhere to preserve the employer's written answer.

How wide are the nine advertised technician wage ranges?

Nine technician ads give an hourly range. Relative width is the difference between upper and lower endpoints divided by the lower endpoint. It makes a range's span readable, while saying nothing about how offers or actual employee wages are distributed.

ABS Kids spans 22.5%. BehaviorCare spans 33.3%. Those are calculations on the quoted endpoints. They do not show negotiation room, equal-pay performance or the likelihood of being hired at the top rate. ABS Kids. BehaviorCare.

ABC and Nurture & Nature need an extra step. Their overall endpoints combine education bands, so comparing the entire span can exaggerate the range available to one applicant. At Nurture & Nature, bachelor-level pay is $23–$29 and master's-level pay is $26–$32. The combined $23–$32 span covers both profiles. Nurture & Nature.

Compare the applicable band. If an employer will not identify it until after an interview, keep that amount unresolved in your notes. Ask how education, credential status and experience determine the offer and whether raises have a written schedule.

Training rates can create a second gap. Hopebridge's selected technician page gives a lower training rate without a number. Its ordinary wage range therefore cannot describe the whole onboarding period. Candidates seeking jobs with paid training should request that missing amount. Hopebridge.

Also check the credential steps if certification affects your band. A clear rate at one stage does not establish what the employer pays at a different stage. Keep the change date and its conditions with the amount.

What do the BCBA workload numbers measure?

Nurture & Nature provides a weekly billable target: 30 clinical hours inside a 40-hour workweek. Only one of the ten BCBA-credentialed ads uses that explicit measure. The role includes clinical-supervisor duties and experience requirements, so it should not be treated as a typical entry-level BCBA schedule. Source.

MetricValueSource
Technician ads with numeric protected paid-hours floor2/10Source
BCBA ads with numeric client caseload4/10Source

That leaves ten hours in its stated week. Ask which documentation, meetings, travel and staff support fit there, and how cancellations affect the target. The ad's number gives you a concrete question to take into an interview rather than proof that every required duty fits comfortably.

Bloomwell supplies a different measure. Its options pair about six, seven or eight clients with treatment-hour tiers of approximately 25, 29 or 30 hours. We retain "treatment hours" because the page does not explicitly call them weekly billable targets. Confirm the counting rules before treating them as interchangeable. Source.

ABS Kids10–12 clientsWhat are weekly productivity expectations?Source

For technician roles, protected paid hours have the same unit problem. A benefits threshold and an availability requirement can both contain an hours number without guaranteeing wages. We counted only explicitly protected numeric floors. That leaves two of ten technician ads in this category.

If you are moving through the analyst-training pathway, ask how fieldwork duties and supervision fit into the proposed week. Training support does not automatically explain an employer's billable expectation, and the missing term belongs in the offer discussion.

An omission remains an omission. It does not establish that an employer never provides a benefit or refuses to disclose it in an offer. If a recruiter answers the question later, add the answer to your personal comparison without rewriting what the public page said on the original check date.

One technician record lacks a captured location. The Hopebridge BCBA page also needs an annual-unit inference from its salary-and-bonus context. We flag those limits instead of using them for a state comparison or treating an inferred pay unit as explicit.

Take the unresolved fields into your interview questions. Ask for a cancelled-week example, onboarding pay and the workload calculation. An employer's written reply can make a vague ad useful for your decision, even though it does not change the audit result.

Your own credential and experience statements should be equally precise. Education bands and senior-role requirements make sense only when the applicant is comparing a role they actually qualify for. Keep the source, the check date and the final offer together.

How the expanded audit was coded

We opened 20 employer-controlled or employer ATS advertisements on October 9, 2026. Every employer has one technician and one BCBA-credentialed row. The first ten ads were chosen for accessible, contrasting examples and included pay-related discovery. Five additional employers came from configured public career sources. Broken Circle Care links were excluded. Nurture & Nature supplies the replacement pair.

Numeric pay means an amount appears. Numeric base-pay terms mean an ordinary hourly wage or separately stated salary appears, even if a second amount conflicts. Consistency is a separate check. Mixed total compensation and unexplained guaranteed compensation are outside the base-pay category. Range-width calculations use technician hourly endpoints and mark combined education bands.

Numeric protected hours require a paid-floor promise. Numeric caseload, treatment hours and explicit weekly billable hours are separate fields. These choices prevent one kind of number from silently answering another question. The 20 row IDs and source URLs are in the downloads.

This is a purposive snapshot. It does not estimate national pay or disclosure prevalence, and role and location differences prevent a pooled salary benchmark. We did not inspect contracts, payroll or legal compliance. Some pages lack publication dates, so the date here records access. Preserve the denominators and selection limits when citing the findings.

Questions candidates ask

What did the 20-ad disclosure audit find?

Eighteen of the 20 ads contain a pay number. Thirteen state ordinary wage or salary terms, including two salary ads with conflicting amounts. Eleven have numeric base-pay terms without a detected pay conflict. The sample contains one technician and one BCBA-credentialed ad from each of ten employers. Its counts describe those selected pages. Source

Why separate total compensation from salary?

ABC's selected BCBA ad gives $84,500–$119,000 in total compensation with bonuses and ownership among the components. It does not separately quantify base salary. Ask for the guaranteed cash salary and the conditions attached to the remaining components. A total-compensation range can help start a discussion, but it leaves that cash-versus-contingent split unresolved. Source

How many ads disagree with themselves about pay?

Three of the 20 pages contain conflicting pay numbers: the selected Bloomwell, Apex and Above and Beyond BCBA ads. We retain both figures and exclude those ranges from wage-width calculations. A recruiter needs to confirm the applicable amount. The audit does not decide which part of an internally inconsistent page governs an eventual offer. Source

Which BCBA page states a weekly billable target?

The Nurture & Nature clinical-supervisor ad specifies 30 billable clinical hours within a 40-hour week. That is one of ten selected BCBA-credentialed ads. Its duties and experience requirements differ from some other rows. Use it as an example of a disclosed workload term, then ask the employer how documentation, travel and supervision fit around that target. Source

Are treatment-hour tiers the same as billable targets?

Bloomwell lists treatment-hour tiers of approximately 25, 29 and 30 hours alongside client-count options. The page does not explicitly call them weekly billable targets, so we keep that wording intact. Ask how treatment hours are counted and whether the model includes assessment, caregiver meetings and supervision before comparing it with a stated productivity requirement. Source

What does the wage-range width show?

ABS Kids' listed $20–$24.50 hourly range spans 22.5% of its lower endpoint. The calculation describes an advertised range, not the variation in employees' actual wages. Education and experience bands need their own context. A wide combined range can cover several candidate profiles even when the band for one applicant is much narrower. Source

Can the counts be used as national statistics?

The sample has 20 ads from ten employers, selected for accessible examples and role coverage. The first round included pay-related searches, and the expansion uses configured public career sources. It is not a random or nationally representative sample. Cite the count, the selected-page design and the October 9, 2026 check date together. Source

Does a missing hours guarantee mean the employer offers none?

Only two of the ten technician ads state numeric protected paid-hours floors. Other pages mention full-time guarantees, stable scheduling or paid gaps, and some omit the issue. A missing sentence is a question for the employer. It cannot establish what every local policy or written offer provides, nor whether a protection is honored in practice. Source
